The ed establishment consists of ed schools that mistrain teachers; organizations (such as National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, NCATE) that collude with ed schools to provide certification and legitimacy; professional organizations (such as National Council for Teachers of English) that spread "progressive pedagogies" and methods that debase education and cripple teachers; unions that are more concerned with control than teacher competence; and state and district bureaucrats who create ever more complex and unmanageable systems.
